A useful sales pipeline gives every deal a next action
Keep stages, deal details, and follow-up activities aligned so your pipeline tells you what needs attention.
A pipeline is useful when it helps you decide what to do next. Stage names alone cannot tell you whether a proposal needs a follow-up, a question is unanswered, or the customer is ready to proceed.
The short version
Review each deal's stage, value, owner where available, and next activity. Move the deal when the underlying conversation changes. Use the board to find work that needs attention rather than treating movement as progress on its own.
Give each stage a meaning your team shares
Use the stages available in your workspace to describe real points in the sales conversation. Agree internally what it means for a deal to enter or leave each stage.
For example, a proposal stage should indicate that a concrete proposal is being discussed, rather than simply that someone intends to write one. Keep the distinction consistent across your active opportunities.
Eligible workspaces let owners and administrators configure pipelines and stages. Use those controls to reflect the team's process; do not assume every member or plan can change the configuration.
Keep the deal details current
Check the opportunity name, linked person or company, and the value you actually mean to record. When opportunities use different currencies, review them in their currency groups rather than treating the amounts as interchangeable.
Klaq provides visual pipeline views and stage changes. You can use the accessible stage selector as well as board interactions to maintain the record.
Write the next activity as an action
A helpful activity has a purpose: confirm a requirement, send the estimate, clarify timing, or ask whether the proposal reached the right person.
Keep that activity close to the CRM record so the next review begins with the relationship context. Do not assume creating an activity sends an email, books a calendar meeting, or starts an automated follow-up sequence.
Review stalled deals honestly
If a deal has not moved, ask what is missing. You may need a customer answer, an internal decision, a clearer proposal, or a decision to close the opportunity.
Moving the card without changing the underlying situation makes the board less reliable. An accurate stage with a clear next action is more useful than a busier-looking pipeline.
Common questions
Does marking a deal won create delivery work automatically?
Do not assume that handoff. Create and review the project and billing records through their own app workflows.
Can I delete a stage that old records still use?
Klaq protects referenced pipeline configuration, including historical references. Review the existing records rather than treating configuration deletion as a cleanup shortcut.
